The A’s and Rangers tangled on a muggy Friday evening to finish off this past week’s Senior League action at the local Crump Paris Park. Both team’s pitching staffs did a good job of working out of numerous jams as this one came down to the wire. The Rangers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as they scored one in the second, and two in the third on two singles and two walks. The A’s retaliated scoring one in the fourth, and two more in the fifth to knot it all up at 3-3 as we headed to the sixth. The Rangers were able to push across a late run on a sacrifice to win the contest 4-3. The Rangers pitching duo of Hunter Mann and Eli Martin proved to be enough to win the contest as they combined for seven strikeouts and one walk. Martin picked up the victory working two innings of relief. The Rangers left their bats at home in this one, but still managed to pull this one out with only three hits. They were led by Zeke Gibbs, Shawn Carver, and Hunter Clemons who each had one hit. The A’s had six hits in the contest. Campbell Gregory led the way for the A’s with two hits. Gregory was followed by Jacob Mimms, Ethan Potts, Taylor Thaxton, and Austin Hughes who each had one hit. WP: Eli Martin

The White Sox and Yankees met on a humid Thursday night in the late night game of the Senior League action this past week at Crump Paris Park.

The scoring started off early and often in this one as the White Sox took an early 1-0 lead into the bottom half of the first. The Yankees then exploded here as they scored six runs on three hits to take a 6-1 lead to the second. In the second, the Yankees tacked on three more runs on three hits and a walk making it 9-1. The White Sox cut the lead in the third to 9-3, but the Yankees once again answered making it 10-3. The White Sox made a late comeback cutting the lead to 10-5, but the time limit was reached and the contest was concluded.

Yankees pitcher Justin Vaden got the start on the bump for his team. He went 2-1/3 innings picking up the win before Connor Warren and Levi Halliburton came on in relief to shut it down in the later innings.

The Yankees had one of their best offensive showings of the year as they pounded out seven hits as a team. They were led at the plate by Connor Warren with two hits. Warren was followed by Draven Wilkerson, Justin Vaden, Matthew Battles, Addison Halliburton, and Duane Heflin who each had one hit.

The White Sox had five hits in the contest. They were led by Bill Washer with two hits. Washer was followed Layton Cripps, Kolby Watts, and Chase Thaxton who each had one hit.

The Twins and Orioles met in the early evening contest this past Thursday at the local Crump Paris Park. The Orioles were anxious to pull a big upset early but just could not get anything going late as the Twins pulled away in this one.

The Orioles struck quickly in the first as they took an early 3-0 lead into the second, but the Twins had had enough of that as they struck for one in the second and five in the third to take a 6-3 lead to the fourth. They tacked on one in the fourth and one more in the sixth to win the contest 8-3.

The Twins pitching duo of Grant Winfree and Ethan Hackett proved to be enough as they slammed the door on the Orioles offensive attack after the first inning. Hackett picked up the win going four innings of relief allowing only one hit, while striking out three.

The Twins were led by Jase Holder, Nathan Huff, Cody Bryant, Grant Winfree, and Nick Dillehay who each had one hit. They took advantage of numerous walks and errors by the Orioles to score their eight runs.

The Orioles mustered only two hits in the contest. They were led by Barrett Briggs and Kolby Sloan who each had one hit.

The Red Sox and White Sox met in the night cap matchup of the Wednesday evening make up contests. With a win, the Red Sox could move into 3rd place and be within striking distance of the top two teams.

The Red Sox once again put their aggressive style of play to the test in this one, as they took an early 2-0 into the fifth. They tacked on three more in the fifth to make it 5-0, after Bobby Parliment blasted a bases clearing double off the wall in deep right center. The White Sox tried to rally in the fifth, but Red Sox pitcher Joey Parliment slammed the door ending the contest 5-1.

Red Sox pitcher Joey Parliment was flawless on the mound. The 14 year old righty was dominant on the mound as he threw a complete game, striking out nine, giving up two hits, while also not walking a single batter.

The Red Sox had eight hits in the contest. They were led by Bobby Parliment and Chris McKinley with two hits. Both of Parliment’s were two line drive doubles off of the wall in deep right center. Parliment and McKinley were followed by Joey Parliment, Austin Murphy, Buster King, and Seth Bingham who each had one hit.

The White Sox were held to only two hits in the contest. They were led by Devin Goodwin and Kolby Watts who each had one hit.

The Rangers and Orioles met on Wednesday evening in a makeup contest from Monday with both teams tied for second place. As many expected this one would come down to the wire once again as did the previous contest.

The Rangers got on the board early as they took a 2-0 lead in their half of the first, but the Orioles quickly cut the lead to 2-1 in their half. The Orioles then tied the contest in the third after an error by the Rangers shortstop allowed Nate Johnson to race across the plate tying the contest 2-2. After this, both teams offensive woes continued as neither could manage a hit until the fifth inning. In the fifth, Eli Martin scored from third after reaching on an error when Matthew Enoch singled to give the Rangers the lead at 3-2, but the Orioles were not done yet.

In their half of the fifth, an error by the pitcher let the leadoff batter reach. After moving his way to third base, the runner misread a ball hit back to the pitcher and was gunned out at the plate ending the Orioles chances.

The Rangers pitching duo of Eli Martin and Matthew Enoch proved to be just enough to lead the Rangers to victory. The duo scattered three hits throughout the contest, while striking out six. Enoch picked up the win as he went 3-2/3 innings of relief.

The Rangers were led by Matthew Enoch with two hits followed by Chris Ray and Jay Franklin who each had one hit.

The Orioles mustered three hits in the contest. They were led by Nate Johnson, Barrett Briggs, and Jim Anstis who each had one hit.

The A’s and Twins met in the early evening contest this past Tuesday evening at the local Crump Paris Park to start off the Senior League action for the week.

Through two innings, this contest was knotted up 0-0, but the Twins had had enough of that as they struck for four in the third to take a 4-0 lead to the fifth. The A’s fought back cutting it to 4-1, but once again the Twins tacked on making it 6-1 heading to the sixth. The A’s struck for two here cutting the lead to 6-3, but the Twins pitching staff shut them down to win the contest 6-3.

The Twins pitching trio of Jase Holder, Ethan Hackett, and Cody Bryant once again proved to be enough as they combined for eight strikeouts while allowing only four hits. Jase Holder picked up the win going 3-2/3 innings before receiving relief help from Ethan Hackett and Cody Bryant. Bryant picked up the save once again working two innings of relief.

The Twins were led by Ethan Hackett with two hits followed by Lawson Underwood, Dylan Hackett, Jase Holder, and Nathan Huff who each had one hit in the contest.

The A’s were led by Campbell Gregory, Ethan Potts, Mason Gregory, and Jon Williams who each had one hit.
