Carthage Courier Rangers 4

Citizens Bank A’s 3

The A’s and Rangers tangled on a muggy Friday evening to finish off this past week’s Senior League action at the local Crump Paris Park.

Both team’s pitching staffs did a good job of working out of numerous jams as this one came down to the wire. The Rangers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as they scored one in the second, and two in the third on two singles and two walks. The A’s retaliated scoring one in the fourth, and two more in the fifth to knot it all up at 3-3 as we headed to the sixth. The Rangers were able to push across a late run on a sacrifice to win the contest 4-3.

The Rangers pitching duo of Hunter Mann and Eli Martin proved to be enough to win the contest as they combined for seven strikeouts and one walk. Martin picked up the victory working two innings of relief.

The Rangers left their bats at home in this one, but still managed to pull this one out with only three hits. They were led by Zeke Gibbs, Shawn Carver, and Hunter Clemons who each had one hit.

The A’s had six hits in the contest. Campbell Gregory led the way for the A’s with two hits. Gregory was followed by Jacob Mimms, Ethan Potts, Taylor Thaxton, and Austin Hughes who each had one hit.
