The White Sox and Yankees met on a humid Thursday night in the late night game of the Senior League action this past week at Crump Paris Park.
The scoring started off early and often in this one as the White Sox took an early 1-0 lead into the bottom half of the first. The Yankees then exploded here as they scored six runs on three hits to take a 6-1 lead to the second. In the second, the Yankees tacked on three more runs on three hits and a walk making it 9-1. The White Sox cut the lead in the third to 9-3, but the Yankees once again answered making it 10-3. The White Sox made a late comeback cutting the lead to 10-5, but the time limit was reached and the contest was concluded.
Yankees pitcher Justin Vaden got the start on the bump for his team. He went 2-1/3 innings picking up the win before Connor Warren and Levi Halliburton came on in relief to shut it down in the later innings.
The Yankees had one of their best offensive showings of the year as they pounded out seven hits as a team. They were led at the plate by Connor Warren with two hits. Warren was followed by Draven Wilkerson, Justin Vaden, Matthew Battles, Addison Halliburton, and Duane Heflin who each had one hit.
