Woman arrested for assaulting her mother and grandmother

On December 7, 2017, Deputy Terrance Adams was dispatched to a residence on McCrary Court for a domestic assault, and he was informed that one of the female subjects had left the residence on foot.

According to the police report, Deputy Adams saw the female in question, Adrienne Gray (24), walking toward the Stagecoach market. When Gray saw Deputy Adams, she ran into the wooded area by the market.

Deputy Adams chased Gray on foot and gave her several commands to stop. By the time, Deputy Adams reached Gray, she had tripped over a tree branch.

According to the police report, Sgt. Kendra Grisham had arrived on the scene by this point. Sgt. Grisham and Deputy Adams returned to the residence and spoke to the other individuals involved in the altercation.

The victims were Gray’s mother and grandmother. According to the police report, the mother stated that she and Gray had been arguing about some of Gray’s belongings. Gray was asked to leave, but refused.

When the mother told Gray she was going to call the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, Gray took the phone from her mother and threw it. Gray then began pulling her hair and hitting her mother numerous times in the head and face.

According to the police report, at this time Gray’s grandmother entered the kitchen in an attempt to pull Gray off her mother. Gray then began to hit her grandmother numerous times in the face, neck, and chest while pulling her hair.

Gray then exited the residence and began walking down the road.

According to the police report, upon arriving at the Smith County Jail, a hypodermic needle was located in Gray’s purse.

Gray is charged with resisting arrest, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with an emergency call, two counts of domestic assault, and violation of probation.

Gray has a lengthy arrest history, having been arrested 8 times in the last 2 years. In the last 6 months, she has been arrested for felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substances, domestic assault, interference with emergency call, criminal trespassing, and evading arrest.
