Goodbye, 2015!

December 31, 2015

Thursday, December 31st, 2015 — 1:00 PM

From snow and ice back in February to tornadoes the day before Christmas Eve, 2015 sure has been a crazy year for weather here in Smith County. Luckily for us, we’ll be ending the year on a calm note.

This Afternoon — Mostly cloudy and cold. High: 46°. Winds NNW at 5 mph.

If you have plans tonight, such as going to Nashville for the New Year’s celebration, bundle up. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 30s by midnight, making your time outdoors miserably cold if you aren’t dressed appropriately. If you plan on partaking in the consumption of alcoholic beverages and are travelling, please, please, please be sure to have a designated driver, and drink responsibly.

New Year’s Day — Mostly sunny skies. Still cold. Wake up: 28°, Afternoon high: 44°. Winds WNW at 5 mph.

You know it’s finally Winter when can only manage a high in the mid 40s under a mostly sunny sky. While that’s close to average for this time of year, it’s a far cry from the 70s we enjoyed last week during Christmas.

Our first week of 2016 will be cold, but dry!
