Sunday — Cold. Mainly cloudy. A few AM flurries possible. Wake up: 28°, Afternoon high: 41°. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Our Sunday won’t differ too much from our Saturday. We’ll see an abundance of cloud cover (perhaps breaking up some during the afternoon) and temperatures failing to rise very much past the 40° mark. A moderate breeze out of the WNW will make it feel even colder.
It’s possible that we could see a passing flurry or two during the morning, but nothing more than that.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day — REALLY FREAKING COLD. Sunny. Wake up: 12°, Afternoon high: 27°. Winds NW at 5 mph.
Monday will be our coldest day of the season thus far. Even with sunny skies, we won’t make it to the freezing mark for our high. That’s cold.
Our temperatures Monday night may fall down into the single digits. Pets should be warmly sheltered, and kids waiting for the bus Tuesday morning should be dressed as warmly as possible. Better yet: don’t let them wait outside for the bus if at all possible.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, things begin to get interesting. Models are literally all over the place, but right now, it does look like we could get our first measurable snowfall of the year. There’s a catch, however. Some models show snow transitioning to rain during the afternoon. Others show all rain. For now, we’re going to withhold judgement until more information becomes available. Just keep Wednesday in the back of your mind and consult with multiple weather sources over the coming days as forecasts become more refined.
