Remember those really warm temperatures we had recently? Yeah, you’re probably going to wish we could have those back once you step outside tomorrow. We haven’t had too many shots of cold air yet as we get set to plow right into the Winter season, so you probably aren’t very prepared for what awaits us. But don’t fret… It will be very short-lived. More details on that below…
Today — Cold. Clouds decreasing through the afternoon. High: 43°. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
A good breeze blowing out of the west won’t help our cause very much. Wind chills tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 30s. Ouch.
Saturday — Still cold, though not quite as bad. Sunny skies. Wake up: 26°, Afternoon high: 49°. Winds W at 5 mph.
This weekend will be a mixed bag, as far as temperatures go. If you have any shopping to get done, Sunday will be the better of the two days — that is, if you prefer temperatures in the uppers 50s rather than the upper 40s.
High pressure will be in control of our weather this weekend, but it won’t stick around long thanks to a series of disturbances that will move through next week, giving us several chances of rain and possibly even thunderstorms through at least Christmas Eve. It doesn’t look to be a total washout each day, however. We’ll have more specific details on what to expect posted within the next few days, so stay tuned.
Now, to answer that one question on many of your minds…
“Will we have a white Christmas?”
“Will it snow on Christmas?”
“Please let it snow on Christmas!”
Unfortunately, the response to the above questions/statement is a resounding “no.” Although we are still a week out, it appears very likely that temperatures throughout all of next week will be far too warm to support snow — including Christmas. We won’t go into specifics about how our Christmas is shaping up just yet, but we can say with great confidence that it will not snow.
Cheer up! While it may not snow, we’ll at least be comfortably mild during the few days leading up to Christmas, so if you plan on doing any last minute shopping (after this weekend), then you won’t have to deal with brutally cold temperatures. That’s something to be positive about, right?
