Carthage Courier Rangers 3

On June 16th, the Twins looked to capture the Senior League championship with a win versus the Carthage Courier Rangers. The Twins also looked to keep their undefeated season alive just days after surviving a scare from the Red Sox.

With that said, the Twins sent Grant Winfree to the mound. Winfree was phenomenal on the mound as he worked 5-1/3 innings of work while scattering three hits. Winfree turned the ball over to 16-year-old closer Ethan Hackett who shut down the Rangers bats while striking out three over 1-1/3 innings of work.

The Twins offensive attack was led by Jase Holder and Nathan Huff. Holder had a pair of singles in the contest while his teammate Huff also added a pair of singles. They were followed by Dylan Hackett, Ethan Hackett, Mitchell Kirby, Winfree, and Nick Dillehay. With the victory, the Twins claimed the 2015 Smith County Senior League Championship.

The Rangers struggled offensively as the Twins pitchers were nearly flawless on the mound. However, they did manage three hits in the contest. Shortstop Eli Martin led the attack for the Rangers as he had a pair of singles while also scoring two of their runs. He was drove in by the only other Ranger to have hit, Matthew Enoch. Enoch singled in the sixth but was left stranded on second. With the loss, the Rangers still managed to finish second in the league.
