After an hour and ten minute weather delay, Smith County Red and Lebanon Blue faced off in a much anticipated contest on Wednesday, July 1st. This game went back and forth as a chance to move onto the District 2 Tournament was still available.

Smith County jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first, but Lebanon cut it to 3-2. Smith County once again pushed across four more in the second to make 7-2, but Lebanon quickly cut it to 7-3. Lebanon pushed across two in the third to make it 7-5. However, Lebanon’s biggest blow came in the fourth as they pushed across eight runs to make it 13-7. Smith County fought back in the fifth making it 13-9, but once again Lebanon found a way to scrape out a run making it 14-9 as we headed to the sixth. Smith County was able to cut it to 14-11, but Lebanon once again found a way to get out of the jam securing the win.

Lebanon threw multiple pitchers in the contest, but Kyle Toporowski worked a solid last two innings to pick up the win.

Lebanon Blue was led at the plate by Kyle Toporowski and Jackson Bone who each had two hits. Zack Self, Colt Orman, and Teigan Orr rounded out the attack for Lebanon as they each had one hit.

Smith County Red was led by Kyle Adams and Own Gregory who each had three hits. They were followed by Abe Goolsby, Clayton Rigsby, and Peyton Hix who each had one hit.
