The nightcap game on June 15th featured the Orioles and the White Sox in a much anticipated contest. As each of these teams looked to finish off solid years, this one came down to the last inning.
White Sox pitcher Leith McKinney struggled early in the contest but regained his composure to pick up the win. McKinney tossed a complete game while scattering three hits and striking out seven.
The White Sox were led at the plate by McKinney and Layton Cripps. McKinney had trio of singles while Cripps added a pair of singles and a double. The two also combined to drive in five of their ten runs. The duo was followed by Devin Goodwin, Koby Watts, Bill Washer, and James Thomas Fisher who each had one hit. They finished the season 3-8 as their final contest was rained out on Thursday.
The Orioles struggled in the contest, but did manage to score early on walks and timely hits. Orioles Barrett Briggs, Nate Johnson, and Adam Brinkley each had one hit in the contest. Briggs’ being a triple to score Johnson in the first. The Orioles finished 6-5 and third in the league as their contest on Friday was rained out.
