Citizens Bank A’s 8
Halls Sports White Sox 6
On June 12th, the A’s and White Sox met this past Friday on a muggy evening at the local Crump Paris Park. Both teams looked to gain momentum as we headed to the final week of the season, but the A’s prevailed behind a strong offensive attack.
The A’s sent the pitching trio of Campbell Gregory, Jacob Mimms, and Mason Gregory to the mound. The trio proved to be more than enough to slow down the White Sox attack as they allowed three hits in the contest. Jacob Mimms picked up the win, as Mason Gregory came on late to lock down the contest.
Offensively, the A’s were paced by 16-year-olds Ethan Potts and Mason Gregory. Potts had a pair of singles and scored a run while Mason Gregory had a single and double to drive him in in the fourth. David Insco, Campbell Gregory, and Jon Williams rounded out the A’s offensive attack as they each had hits. Campbell Gregory’s being a double in the first.
The White Sox once again struggled at the plate. The Sox were able to manage three hits in the contest off of the trio of A’s pitchers. Koby Watts, Leith McKinney, and Bill Washer led the way for the White Sox as they each had a hit. Watts’ being a two RBI single in the first to get things started. The White Sox made a late attempt to tie it, but once again their offense could not get anything going as the game ended on a ground ball to third with bases loaded.
