Carthage Courier Rangers 6
Hometown Respiratory Yankees 3
On June 10th, the Rangers and Yankees met in the early evening contest this past Wednesday at the local Crump Paris Park. The Yankees kept this one close, but the Rangers found a way to capitalize on mistakes late to win this one.
Rangers starting pitcher Hunter Mann battled through adversity early, but pitched well enough to keep this one close. Mann turned the game over to reliever Matthew Enoch in the 4th with one out. Enoch threw a solid 1-2/3 innings to pick up the win as the Rangers retook the lead in the fifth. He allowed two hits, but battled back to strike out three in his relief appearance.
The Rangers offensive attack was led by Zeke Gibbs. Gibbs led the way with a single, a double, and a triple in the contest. He was followed by Eli Martin who had a pair of singles and scored a run. Gibbs and Martin were followed by Matthew Enoch, Hunter Mann, and Andrew Vaden who each had one hit to round out the Rangers’ attack.
The Yankees had five hits in the contest. Draven Wilkerson led the way for the Yanks as he had a pair of singles and a triple for his three hits. Fellow teammates Britt Dillard and Justin Vaden rounded out the attack for the Yankees as they each had a single.
