Carthage Courier Rangers 3
Halls Sports White Sox 1
On June 9th, the Rangers and White Sox met in the early contest of Tuesday evening action in an offensive struggle. Through an offensive struggle, the game was very interesting late as both teams had chances to score, but never seemed to get the timely hit. Also, both teams pitchers threw exceptionally well in this one, but as always one team had to lose.
Rangers’ pitcher Eli Martin was nothing short of phenomenal in this one as he tossed 5-2/3 innings. The 13-year-old righty scattered three hits, while striking out ten. He turned it over to another 13-year-old, Hunter Mann who came in to nail it town working 1/3 of an inning.
The Rangers offensive attack was weak in this one, but did prove to be enough to win this contest. They were led by pitcher Eli Martin at the plate who pounded out two hits and scored two runs. Martin was followed by Shawn Carver who had a line drive single to right field.
The White Sox also struggled at the plate in this one. They were able to manage three hits, but never seemed to be able to get anything going. The Sox were led by Layton Cripps, Koby Watts, and Leith McKinney who each had one hit.
