The Smith County Candidate Forum and Meet & Greet will be held on Monday night, June 4, 2018. The event will begin with a Meet and Greet at 6:00pm, followed by a Forum led and moderated by JR Smith at 7:00pm. The event will take place at the Smith County Ag Center located at 159 Ag Center Lane – Carthage, TN 37030.
The Smith County Candidate Forum and Meet & Greet offers Smith County community members the opportunity to become more informed citizens. *ALL candidates are invited to attend, but must register with Smith County Insider by June 1, 2018. A list of confirmed candidates will be updated and listed leading up to the event.
The event is hosted by Smith County Insider and the American Legion Post 57.
Candidates will have the opportunity to speak for 2-3 minutes. The speaking time depends on how many candidates register. Due to time constraints and the number of candidates planning to attend, County Commission Candidates may have limited time to speak. Candidates can register by calling/texting (615) 735-7435 or emailing News@SmithCountyInsider.com. If time permits, each candidate running for Smith County Mayor, South Carthage Mayor, Sheriff, Register of Deeds, School Board, State Representative, State Senate, U.S. House of Representative and U.S. Senate will have the opportunity to randomly draw a question submitted by citizens to answer.
