SIXTH DISTRICT, TENN. (14, APRIL 2016) – “After much prayer and consideration, I am honored to announce my candidacy for the sixth district congressional race. This decision did not come lightly, but after speaking to people of the district (who are suffering like no other time in recent history, at the hands of the establishment and Diane Black), I knew it was time to stand up and defend those who continue to be attacked by the Washington elites. People are tired of seeing Congress pass laws they themselves do not live under (i.e. Obamacare).
On a daily basis the establishment chips away at the Constitution and Bill of Rights expecting us to remain silent. That time is over. This is our time to vote the establishment out of office and give power back to the people, just as our Founding Fathers envisioned.
We are now twenty trillion dollars in debt (and climbing), as the establishment continues to vote for Obama’s budget (time after time), funding such things as: illegal immigration, the Syrian refugee program, Obamacare, and planned parenthood. In addition, the establishment and Diane Black have come out in support of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) which will leave more hard working Americans without jobs as companies move to other nations. America was once the greatest manufacturing nation in the world and now, thanks to the bureaucrats in Washington, we are the greatest outsourcing nation in the world.
If given the opportunity to serve the Sixth District, I will protect our veterans, defend our police officers, and serve you and your family, as I fight to bring jobs back to Tennessee! You, the voters are my boss, and not the lobbyist and special interest groups controlling many of those who are elected to Congress.” – Representative Joe Carr
Joe Carr served in the House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015 before announcing his campaign against Lamar Alexander. Despite Carr being outspent by nearly over six million dollars, the race was decided by a mere nine points. During the campaign, Joe Carr became a household name to conservatives all over the state of Tennessee; winning over those who have grown tired of the federal government overstepping constitutional boundaries. During the 2014 campaign, Joe Carr performed well in middle Tennessee…winning almost all of the nineteen counties in the Sixth District.
