Gallatin, TN – Diane Black (R-TN-06) defeated her competition tonight to win a landslide reelection to Congress, continuing her undefeated streak that dates back to her first campaign for state representative in 1998.
“I am humbled by Tennesseans’ overwhelming vote of confidence tonight and am ready to return to Congress to continue fighting for our shared Tennessee values in Washington,” said Diane Black. “This victory is shared with my family, my incredible volunteer team, and my supporters across our district who have encouraged and sustained me throughout this campaign. Tennesseans spoke clearly tonight, demonstrating that they want a solutions-oriented conservative in Congress who will take the fight to the entrenched Washington bureaucracy and get results. After tonight’s win, we have a mandate to continue that fight. I won’t let the voters of middle Tennessee down.”
Diane Black was first elected to Congress in 2010, winning 69 percent of the vote in a district held by Democrats for more than a quarter century prior to her election. Known for her effective pro-life leadership and healthcare expertise, Black serves on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee and Budget Committee. She was endorsed for reelection by the NRA, National Right to Life, American Conservative Union, Susan B. Anthony List, and NFIB, among others.
