Sarah Ann Brown, known lovingly as Sarah Brown, passed peacefully from this life on May 24, 2026, in Carthage, Tennessee, at the age of 56.
She was born on April 17, 1970, in TN. Sarah’s parents were Thomas Randall Brown and Betty Ann Parks Brown. She lived her life as a loving, faith-filled, and thoughtful woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. Sarah was a Christian who sought to walk closely with the Lord, and in the years of her life she developed an even deeper relationship with Him. Her faith was evident in the way she loved her family, the way she cared for others, and the way she carried herself with quiet strength and grace.
Sarah was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was being with her children and grandchildren, who lovingly called her Granny.
She is survived by her son: Timothy (Kristina) Pharris of Gainesboro, TN; daughters: Chelsea Montgomery of Carthage, TN, and Natasha (Andrew) Pharris of Alexandria, TN; brother: Michael (Tawana) Brown of Carthage, TN; sisters: Cassandra (George) Ramsey of Cookeville, TN, and Samantha (Joel) Carpenter of Carthage, TN; grandchildren: Bryson Snedeker, Braiden Jackson, Cyah Jackson, Paislee Barlow, Kynslee Barlow, Blakely Montgomery, Gabriella Montgomery, Madilynn Brown, Lillyanna Brown, Amara Jackson, and Sutton Baine, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Among Sarah’s many pleasures in life was her beloved fur baby, Sassy, whom she loved dearly. Her love for her family was steady and sincere, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Sarah also held a special place in her heart for Janice Rittenberry, who cared for her faithfully for many years. The kindness and devotion shown to Sarah during those years were deeply meaningful, and they reflected the love that surrounded her throughout her life.
She considered Rock Castle Church in Baxter, TN, where her Christian faith found fellowship and encouragement to be her home church. She enjoyed watching television, and one of her favorite shows was I Love Lucy, which brought her moments of laughter and comfort. She also loved the color purple, a color that seemed to reflect the spirit and beauty she carried within her heart.
She also enjoyed shopping, reading her Bible, and studying the word of God. These were not merely pastimes to her, but expressions of a life that found joy in both the ordinary and the sacred. Her Bible was a source of strength and guidance, and her desire to know God’s word more fully was a reflection of the faith she held close.
Those who knew Sarah will remember her as a woman who loved deeply and lived with a tender heart. She was thoughtful in her words and actions, and her life was marked by care for others and devotion to those she loved. Her family will forever remember her as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love was steady and true. Though her earthly journey has ended, the legacy of her faith, her kindness, and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Sarah’s life was a testimony to the goodness of God and the strength that comes from trusting Him through every season. Her memory will be cherished by her family and all who knew her, and her loved ones take comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Though she will be deeply missed, they rejoice in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she loved and served.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10 am until 2 pm. The funeral will begin at 2 pm with Pastor Fabron Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Baxter, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in Sarah’s honor to help assist with funeral expenses by contacting the business office of the funeral home.
