Mrs. Virginia D. Petty, age 74, of Gordonsville, TN, Wife of the late Bobby A. Petty passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Virginia was born November 14, 1940 in the Long Branch Community of Dekalb County, the Daughter of the Late, Robert Sheliah Maynard and Betty Pearl Grisham. She married Bobby A. Petty on May 6, 1960 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2006. Mrs. Virginia was also preceded in death by Sister; Edith Kelly. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gordonsville, and a 1960 graduate of GHS. Mrs. Virginia was co-owner in Mid TN Concrete, since 1975, and was a “VFL”, Vol for life.
Mrs. Virginia is survived by Children; Teresa (Tony) Parton of Evans, GA, Richard (Eveon) Petty of Hickman, TN, and Randy (Lucie) Petty of Gordonsville, TN. Six Grandchildren; Eric (Heidi) Parton, Michael Parton, Lauren (Kody) Kilgore, Rachel Anne Petty, Hunter Petty, and Tasia Petty. Two Great-Grandchildren; Espen Parton and Kari Beth Kilgore. Brother; Stanford Maynard of Elmwood, TN, and Sister; Reba Dedman of Watertown, TN. Furry Companion; Dakota Ty.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Virginia are scheduled to be conducted from the First Baptist Church, Gordonsville on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2PM with Bro. Jason Lohorn and Bro. Richard Petty officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery with Bro. Chris White officiating.
Visitation with the Petty family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Thursday, August 13, from 3PM until 8PM, on Friday, August 14, from 3PM until 8PM, and at First Baptist Church, Gordonsville on Saturday from 11AM until the service time at 2PM.
The Petty Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Virginia’s memory be made to the First Baptist Church, Gordonsville Building Fund, or to the American Cancer Society.
