Mrs. Thelma Jean Preston Pope age 64, of Smyrna, TN, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN.
Mrs. Pope was born November 1, 1950 in Carthage, TN the Daughter of the late James Washington Preston and Ruby Elizabeth Rollins. She was also preceded in death by Brother; Dewey Thomas Preston and Sister; Linda Wells. Mrs. Pope married Dan Pope on August 14, 1981. She was a 1968 graduate of GHS, and attended the Highland Heights Church of Christ.
Mrs. Pope is survived by her Husband of 33 Years; Dan Pope of Smyrna, TN. Five Children; Daniel (Shelby) Pope of Asheville, NC, Rhonda (David) Randolph of Smyrna, TN, Misty (Troy) Johnston of Murfreesboro, TN, Cheryl (Denny) Manning of Smyrna, TN, and Josh (Kenzie) Jacobs of Smyrna, TN. Grandchildren; Taylor Randolph, Nicole Randolph, Jessie Johnston, Levi Johnston, Tucker Johnston, Hope McGuire, Blake McGuire, and Arlie Jacobs. Sisters; Becky Malone of Gordonsville, TN, Darlene (Jimmy) Alvis of Lebanon, TN. Brothers; Jimmy (Sharon) Preston of Gordonsville, TN, Jerry (Betty) Preston of Gordonsville, TN, and Charles Preston of Smithville, TN.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Pope are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11AM with Wayne Cornwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the Pope family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Friday, June 5th from 2PM until 8PM and again on Saturday, June 6th from 9AM until the time of the service at 11AM.
