Mrs. Melinda Jean Poole Wood, age 64 of South Carthage, TN passed away Friday August 29, 2025. Mrs. Wood was born on February 8, 1961 in Carthage, TN, a daughter of the late Sterling Poole and Lorene Dickens Poole. She was also preceded by step-son: Terry Keith Wood; sister, Barbara Clemons and a brother, James Poole. She attended Lebanon Hich School and worked as a secretary at the Smith County Highway Dept for thirty plus years. She married Terry W. Wood on November 4, 2004.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband: Terry W. Wood of South Carthage, TN; daughter Kendra Lott Marlar of South Carthage, TN; granddaughter, Gabby Lott and great-granddaughter; Haylee Caldwell.
Mrs. Wood is at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday September 3, 2025 at 1PM at the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, 658 Lebanon Hwy, Carthage, TN with Bro Danny Huff officiating.
Mrs. Wood family will receive friends on Wednesday September 3, 2025 at the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church from 11AM until service time at 1PM.
