Melanie Johnson, age 54, of Gordonsville TN, passed away on May 6, 2026. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars and Pastor Clay Baggett, is 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Dixon Springs Cemetery, Dixon Springs TN, will follow the service. Family will serve as Pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m.
Melanie Lynn Hensley Johnson was born in Lebanon TN to Joan Carol Holmes Hensley and J.B. Hensley. She met and married the man of her dreams, Steven Johnson, and they had a wonderful partnership. Melanie loved her family and her pets. She had a heart for all animals but of course her cats, dogs, and exotic bird Tally, were special. Trips to the beach, eating out with Steven, especially Mexican or sushi, and singing to the radio, brought her great joy. NewsMax kept her informed about the world.
Melanie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Steven “Slick” Johnson, mother Carol (Darrell) Petty, and sister Hailee (Alie Arrington) Jackson, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father J.B. Hensley, grandparents Martha and Carl Holmes and Lillan and Willard Hensley.
