Mrs. Jane Martin, age 77 of South Carthage and long time resident of the Defeated Creek Community, died Monday afternoon, July 14 at Vanderbilt-Wilson in Lebanon. She is survived by: husband, Roger Martin; daughter, Tawana Brown and husband Michael of Defeated Creek; son, Dewayne Martin and wife Stacey of Alexandria; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Hula and husband Michael of Hickman, Maegan Key and husband Noah of Defeated Creek, Serenity Brown of Defeated Creek, Zach Martin and wife Chandler of Murfreesboro, Ethan Martin and wife Cynthia of Alexandria; 7 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Madelyn and Michael Hula, Karleigh Overstreet, Lucas Hula, Ashton Key, Mabel Martin; 4 sisters, Phyllis Griffith and husband Charles of Alexandria, May Clenney and husband Tom of Lebanon, Margie Martin and husband Donnie of McClures Bend, Tracey Kyle and husband Waylon of Temperance Hall, brother, Rickey Huddleston of Sullivans Bend.
Family and friends will assemble at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Thursday morning, July 17 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM for a visitation. There will be no funeral service. She will be cremated later at Cumberland Family Services.
The family has requested memorials to St. Jude.
