Mrs. Emogene Grisham

Mrs. Emogene Grisham, age 88, of Elmwood, died Tuesday evening, August 14, 2018, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Grisham is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her service will be conducted on Friday afternoon, August 17, at 1:00 PM.  Bro. Jackie Dillehay will officiate.  Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens.

Serving as active pallbearers are: Steve Farley, Dewayne Lambert, Lucas Green, Ian Grigg, Daniel Stout, Joe Daniel Stout.

Visitation will begin on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.

Born Cora Emogene Roberts in the Indian Creek Community of Putnam County on September 18, 1929, she was the oldest of five children of Livy Alonzo Roberts and Allie Mai Lambert Roberts.  She was preceded in death by two siblings, Billy Roberts and Reba King.

On December 27, 1952 in Springfield, she was united in marriage to Herbert Blant Grisham who preceded her in death on May 14, 2014 at the age of 83. A grandson, Torrey Hale, also preceded her in death on October 23, 2015.

Mrs. Grisham was a homemaker and a member of the Elmwood United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: children, Michelle Grisham Hale of Elmwood, Phillip Grisham of Plano, Texas, Scottie Grisham of Wichita, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Jordan Hale and wife Megan , Isaac Grisham, Lindsey Hale, Logan Hale; 5 great-grandchildren, Bryson Grisham, Sophie Hale, Colton Hale, Emma Hale, Brinley Hale; siblings, Willene Roberts of Nashville, Earl Roberts and wife Jeanette of Madison.

The family has requested memorials to Alive Hospice.
