Mrs. Edwena Carter, age 88, of Carthage, died Sunday afternoon, September 13, at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage. She is survived by: children, Regena Morton and husband Cornel of San Luis Obispo, California, Lee Carter and wife Ione of Johnson City, Carl Bruce Carter and wife Carolyn of Carthage; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Carter is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her service will be conducted on Thursday morning, September 17, at 11:00 AM. Rev. Tony Clemmons and Rev. Willie Johnson will officiate. Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens.
Viewing will begin on Wednesday, September 16, from Noon until 5:00 PM and on Thursday, September 17, from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
The family has requested memorials to Williams Chapel Church.
