Mrs. Darlene Wilson Murphy
Mrs. Darlene Wilson Murphy, age 75, of Gordonsville, TN passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the St. Thomas West Hospital.
Mrs. Murphy was born July 23, 1940 in Wilder, TN, the daughter of the late Richard William Wilson and Verlin Juanita McGinnis Wilson. She married Arthur D. Murphy on June 16, 1956 and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1985. Mrs. Murphy was also preceded in death by Sister; Charlene Ashburn, Brothers; Joel Wilson and Larry Wilson. Great-Grandson; Matthew Jordan Murphy and Granddaughter; Amanda Darlene Young. She worked at Welsh Company for several years. She was of Baptist Faith. Mrs. Murphy loved gardening and flowers, and loved her family.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by Children; Glenn (Kathy) Murphy of Gordonsville, TN, Ricky (Lois) Murphy of Gordonsville, TN, Gearldean Young of Carthage, TN, Judy Darlene Murphy of Gordonsville, TN, and Mary Ann (Joey) Hobby of Hartsville, TN. Brothers; Kenneth Wilson of Livingston, TN, and Ronald Wilson of Livingston, TN. Three Sisters; Juanita Welch of Monterey, TN, Geneva Powell of Oaklandon, IN, and Irene (Johnny) Phy of Cookeville, TN. Eleven Grandchildren and Ten Great-Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Murphy are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 1PM at with Eulogy given by Mary Hobby. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the Murphy family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home on Monday from 11AM to 8PM and on Tuesday after 9AM until the service time at 1PM.
