Darlene Batey, age 77 of Alexandria TN, passed away on September 16, 2025. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Mark Caruth, is 10 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in New Hope Cemetery, Alexandria TN will follow the service. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m.
Joyce Darlene Batey was born in Lebanon TN to Margie Ree Courtney Batey and Dink Batey. She was one of ten children. She lived in Brush Creek before living in Lebanon in 1970. She went to Gordonsville High School. Old time gospel and country music were the soundtracks of her life. She enjoyed square dancing and going to the beach. Darlene was the caregiver for both parents and a sister while working at Parker Seals for 47 years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for more than 30 years.
Darlene is survived by her sister Margie Faye (Rick) Fritsch and several beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Margie Courtney Batey and Dink Batey, sisters Peggy McClanahan, Mary Green, Glenda Mae Batey, and brothers John Grandstaff, Billy Batey, Don Batey, Terry Batey, and James Batey.
