Mrs. Charlene Canter, age 97 of Defeated Creek, died Thursday evening, December 8 at The Pavilion in Lebanon. She is survived by: daughter-in-law, Barbara Canter of Mooresville, NC; caregivers, Evelyn Lassiter Wilkinson and husband Daniel of Lafayette, Glenda Lassiter of Nashville, Mack Lehigh and wife Wanda of Sparta.
Mrs. Canter is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her service will be conducted on Monday morning, December 12, at 11:00 AM. Rev. J. Mack Lehigh will officiate. Interment in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
The family has requested memorials to Smith County Humane Society.
