Mrs. Carolyn Clay, age 82, of Defeated Creek, died Saturday afternoon, April 28, at Riverview Regional in Carthage. She is survived by: 4 children, George Clay and wife Teresa of Defeated Creek, Ramona Wilmore and husband Scotty of Pleasant Shade, Jackie Smith and husband Robert Lee of Hickman, Belinda Wilks of Madison; sister, Veva Holleman and husband Billy of Lebanon; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Mullinax and husband Kevin, Tyler Robinson and wife Kim, Cara Fleenor, Hillary Miller and husband Dusty, Nicole Clay, Austin Clay, Taylor Clay; 6 great-grandchildren, Chloe Fleenor, Rome Robinson, Livy Robinson, Lyla Jayne Miller, Kaden Mullinax, Karson Mullinax.

Mrs. Clay is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her service will be conducted on Tuesday afternoon, May 1, at 1:00 PM. Eld. James “Pee Wee” Massey and Bro. Mark Stinnett will officiate. Interment in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are: Tyler Robinson, Taylor Clay, Austin Clay, Kaleb Bush, Basil Skelton, Jeff Hudson, Ronnie Anderson, Jamie Sircy and David Cassity.

Visitation will begin on Monday morning at 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.

The family has requested memorials to the Defeated Creek Fire Department.
