Mrs. Brenda Joyce Maynard Sharp, age 75, of Crossville, TN passed away on Sunday October 5, 2025 in Knoxville, TN.
Mrs. Sharp was born February 7, 1950 in Carthage, TN a daughter of the late Wirt Lee Maynard and Helen Marie Wheeler Maryard. She was a 1968 graduate of Gordonsville High School. Mrs. Sharp was preceded by husbands: Jerry Preston, James Hancock, and Gary Sharp; brothers: Terry Lee Maynard, and Wirt Wayne Maynard; son-in-law, Jeff Greenwood; step-father, James Howard Maynard. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who had a heart of gold
Mrs. Sharp is survived by companion, John McClain of Crossville, TN; children: Jerry Wayne Preston of Crossville, TN, Christie (Derrek) St. John of Elmwood, TN and Angela Greenwood of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Johnny Wayne Preston, Cierra Preston, Rhiannon Preston, Kayla (Matt) Hughes, Joshua (Melissa) Kirby, Jessica Davis, Kendra (James) Morris, Scott Greenwood, Dylan Greenwood, Austin Greenwood, and Isabella Greenwood; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Cathy (Jimmy) Holmes of Baxter, TN, Deborah Lamping of Brentwood, TN, Vicky (William) James of Lebanon, TN and Vinnie (Flynn) Neal of Lebanon, TN; sister-in-law Sandra Maynard of Lancaster, TN.
Mrs. Sharp is at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday October 11, 2025 at 1 PM by William James. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Sharp’s family will receive friends on Friday October 10, 2025 from
4 PM until 8 PM and on Saturday October 11, 2025 from 11AM until service time at 1 PM.
Mrs. Sharp’s family request memorial donations in her memory be made to Bass Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
