Mrs. Betty Etheleen Wills
Mrs. Betty Etheleen Wills, age 87, of Sykes, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at her home.
Mrs. Wills was born December 16, 1927 in Sykes, TN, the daughter of the late Jesse Andrew Williams and Allie Leona Moore. She married L.D. Wills on September 10, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by Son; Randall Wayne Wills in 1976. Sisters; Elsie Gilbert, Roxie Little. Brothers; J.C. Williams, Edward Williams, Kenneth Williams. Granddaughter; Melissa Seay.
Mrs. Wills worked at Rainbow Laundry and White Way Laundry. She also worked at Shaheen’s Grocery Store, and Genesco, where she made boxes for shoes; she worked on the farm, and was a homemaker. When Mrs. Wills was young, she played the guitar and sang gospel music when her father preached and also on the WNAB Radio station.
Mrs. Wills is survived by Children; George Thomas (Rose) Wills of Sykes, TN, Michael Steven (Alice) Wills of Sykes, TN, and Leona Jane Bain of Sykes, TN. Grandchildren; Cathy Dickens, Billy Joe (Julie) Bain, Chris (Amanda) Bain, and Steven Wills. Five Great-Grandchildren, Five Step Great Grandchildren, and Three Great Great Grandchildren. Two Brothers; William H. “Bill” Williams of Alexandria, TN, and Harry (Frankie) Williams of Baxter, TN. Sister; Josephine Rhoads of Nashville, TN.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wills are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 1PM with Bro. Tim Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Wills Cemetery.
Visitation with the Wills family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Thursday from 2PM until 8PM and again on Friday from 10AM until the time of the service at 1PM.
