Mrs. Anne Armistead Eastes,age 80, of Gordonsville, TN, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Alive Hospice of Skyline in Madison, TN.
Mrs. Anne was born February 27, 1935 in Cookeville, TN, the Daughter of the late Frazier Campbell “Dick” Armistead and Ruby Cothern. She was also preceded in death by a Daughter; Martha Anne Eastes. Mrs. Anne married Billy Eastes on September 28, 1952.
She was a 1952 Graduate of GHS, and worked for the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services as an eligibility counselor for 20 years until retirement. Mrs. Anne was a member of the Gordonsville United Methodist Church. She was active in the Tennessee Democratic Party, the Smith County Democratic Women and the Woman’s Breakfast Club. She was also involved in the Book Club and was a member of the Library Board.
Mrs. Anne is survived by Husband; Billy Eastes of Gordonsville, TN. Daughter; Margaret Scott of Murfreesboro, TN, and Son; John Eastes of Gordonsville, TN. Grandchildren; Lou (Caleb) Paschall, Jason (Brittney Viers) Scott, and Andrew Eastes. Great-Grandchildren; Darby Hewlett and Lilly Hewlett.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Eastes are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 1PM with Bro. Dickie Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the Eastes family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Wednesday, October 14, from 4PM until 8PM and again on Thursday, October 15, at the Gordonsville United Methodist Church from 11AM until the time of the service at 1PM.
The Eastes Family requests that Memorial Donations be made to the Gordonsville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
