Mr. Willis “Shorty” Petty, age 88 of Granville, died Saturday morning, October 17 at NHC in Cookeville. He is survived by:wife, Thelma Petty; son, Paul Petty of Sykes; 7 step children, Bessie Stephenson and husband Jessie of Algood, Robert Flournoy and wife Valerie of Sparta, Debra Moore and husband Stephen of Granville, Rickey Flourney and wife Lynn of Gainesboro, Ann Huepenbecker and husband Hoop of Northville, Michigan, Bobby Gene Brown and wife Gina of Granville, Eddie Brown and wife Robin of Lafayette; 4 sisters, Charlene Petty Merritt of Hendersonville, Betty Petty Brock of Andalusia, Alabama, Tennie Petty Webb of Willette, Susie Petty Lee of Romeoville, illinois; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Petty is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral home where his service will be conducted on Wednesday afternoon, October 21, at 1:00 PM. Bro. David Thackxton will officiate. Interment in the Smith County Memorials Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are: Bobby Brown, Eddie Brown, Robert Flournoy, Rick Flournoy.
Visitation will be on Wednesday only from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
Masks are required.
