Mr. Van Robert Gibbs
Mr. Van Robert Gibbs, age 87, of Gordonsville, TN, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016.
Mr. Gibbs was born September 11, 1928 in the Boulton’s Bend Communty of Elmwood, TN, the Son of the late Lucius Campbell Gibbs and Vera Armistead Gibbs. He is also preceded in death by Wife; Billye Farley Gibbs, Daughter; Vanda Allmon, and Son; John Campbell Gibbs. Mr. Van Robert retired from William L. Bonnell Company, working from the opening until 1989. He also worked the Stockyard Sales for several years. Mr. Van Robert had served on the Gordonsville City Council and was a former Board of Director for the Gordonsville Branch of Citizens Bank.
Mr. Gibbs is survived by Son; Kerry (Yvonne) Gibbs of Gordonsville, TN. Son-in-Law: David Allmon of Cookeville, Tn. Grandchildren; Jonathan (Lindsay) Allmon of Knoxville, TN, Korinne (Andy) Hill of Cookeville, TN, Shanna Shaw of Nashville, TN, Lori Johnson of Cookeville, TN, Bobby Allmon of Knoxville, TN, and Andrew Gibbs of Gordonsville, TN. Five Great-Grandchildren; Ashtin Hill, Elijah Hill, Chloe Johnson, Jaxon Allmon, and Tyson Allmon.
The Family will be holding a Graveside Service for Mr. Gibbs.
Visitation with the Gibbs family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Saturday from 5PM until 8PM.
In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations in Mr. Van Robert’s memory be made to Chad’s Run.
