Mr. Samuel Trevis Pugh

Samuel Trevis Pugh, 73, of Carthage, Tennessee, passed away on October 4, 2026, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease at the Smith County Health and Rehab Facility.

Sam was born in January 1953 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Sam was baptized at an early age at Central Church of Christ in Nashville, Tenn.

He graduated from Two Rivers High School in 1971 and attended Middle Tennessee State University after a four-year enlistment in the Navy.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Louise Pugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Pugh and brother Benjamin Pugh.

He is survived by his children Chris Pugh & Amber (Steve) Matuszewski, grandson Clifton Matuszewski, his stepsons William and Robert Carillon, his brother Jim (Sherry) Pugh, and sister Joanna Grant.

He is also survived by his nephews David (Nicole) Pugh, Jason (Cortney) Pugh, Jacob (Kristina) Pugh, and a host of other family and friends.

Sam was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and brother-in-Christ.

A funeral service for Samuel will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 2: 00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel officated by Samuel’s brother, James Pugh, with interment to follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel, with the service to follow.
