Ronnie was born August 24, 1954 in Carthage, TN a son of the late Louis Solon Gentry and Reba Kathleen Petty Gentry. He was also preceded by a brother David Gentry. He was a 1972 graduate of Smith County High School. Ronnie worked at the Gordonsville Zinc Mine for several years. He loved fishing, playing music, pocket knives and flash lights.
Ronnie is survived by two daughters: Jessie (Shannon) Birdwell of Cookeville, TN and Kathleen Gentry of Club Springs, TN: sister, Joyce Bennett of St. Mary, TN; granddaughter, Hailey Birdwell.
Ronnie is at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes. Graveside services and interment for Ronnie will be conducted at New Macedonia Cemetery on Thursday February 12, 2026 at 1PM with Bro Donnie Payne officiating.
Ronnie’s family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Thursday February 12, 2026 from 10AM until we leave to go to the Cemetery for the graveside service at 12:30PM.
Memorial donations in memory of Ronnie may be made to Bass Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
