Mr. Richard Moore, age 89 of Rome, died Tuesday afternoon, July 4 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He is survived by: wife, Wilma Moore; children, Rubin Moore and wife Dianna of Hillview, KY, Tina Meyer and husband Karl of Nashville, Linda Moore of Murfreesboro, Sandra Baucom and husband Jay of Smyrna, Myra Sircy and husband Scott of Rome; sister, Virginia Perdue of Lebanon; 14 grandchildren, Rachel Beechboard and husband Beau, Angela Beckman and husband Benjamin, Jason Cox and wife Faye, Alyssa Laber and husband Daniel, Misty Moore, Jerry Clark, Yona Baucom, Ally Baucom, Sarah Baucom, John Moore, Rick Moore, Sarah Clark and husband Joseph, Matthew Moore, Samantha Dedmon and husband Bray; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moore is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, July 9 at 3:00 PM. Eld. Beau Beechboard and Eld. Junior Dickerson will officiate. Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Serving as pallbearers are: Bray Dedmon, Tracy George, Charles Tyree, Greg Rushing, Barry Tyree, Bill Tyree. A Masonic Chapel service will be conducted on Saturday evening at 6:00 PM by the Carthage Benevolent Lodge #14 F&AM.
Visitation on Saturday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM and on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
The family has requested memorials to the Plunketts Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
