Mr. Parker Goolsby, age 83 of Lebanon and long-time resident of South Carthage, died Monday morning, March 25 at Vanderbilt-Wilson in Lebanon. He is survived by: wife, Jessie Taylor Goolsby; sister, Lois Knight and husband Roy Jr of South Carthage; 2 children, Dr. Amy Self of Jackson, TN, Susan Barner and husband Bill of Knoxville; step-children, Kathy Sherfield and husband Rodger of South Carthage, Bud Taylor and wife Melissa of Nashville; grandchildren, Lauren Evans and husband Kris of Franklin, TN, Ryan Self and wife Kristen of Trenton, TN, Dr. Josh Self and wife Gracie of Birmingham, Alabama, Caleb Self of New York City, Ethan Self and wife Madeline of Waco, Texas, Eli Self of Nashville, Glenn Slack of Baxter, Lane Slack of Memphis, Seth Taylor of Nashville.
Family and friends will gather at Dixon Springs Cemetery for Graveside Services and Interment on Saturday, April 13 at 1:00 PM. Ryan Self and Josh Self will present Scripture and Prayer. Honorary pallbearers are: Bill Barner, Ryan Self, Dr. Josh Self, Ethan Self, Caleb Self, Eli Self, Seth Taylor, Glenn Slack, Lane Slack.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
The family has requested memorials to South Carthage Missionary Baptist Church or Beckwith Missionary Baptist Church
