Mr. Osteen Williams, age 91, of Defeated Creek, died Saturday evening, September 3, at Riverview Regional in Carthage. He is survived by: wife, Emogene Williams; sons, Mark Williams and wife Sandy of Gallatin, Joe Williams and wife Ellen of Mt. Juliet; sister, Faye Hawkins of Donelson; brother, Bobby Wright Williams and wife Retta of Difficult; 4 grandchildren, Chad Williams and wife Glenda of Tanglewood, Jennifer Williams of Gallatin, Carl Williams and wife Amanda of Hendersonville, Casin Williams and fiance’ Stephanie Preston of Carthage; 5 great-grandchildren, Austin Williams, Abbi Williams, Jack Williams, Anna Williams, Lyric Robinson.
Mr. Williams is at the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be conducted at Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens on Wednesday morning, September 7 at 11:00 AM. Eld. Chase Johnson will officiate. Chad Williams, Carl Williams, Casin Williams, John Cassity, David Cassity, Nick Cassity, Rue Alan Dillehay, and Phillip Alan Huffines will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation at the Hackett Chapel will begin on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until leaving for the cemetery at 10:45 AM.
The family has requested memorials to the Defeated Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
