Mr. Lester Duke, age 71 of the Hiwassee Community, died Thursday morning, October 23 at his home. He is survived by: girlfriend, Ann Holliman; 2 sons, Carlos Duke of Lebanon, Jonathan Duke and girlfriend Amanda Padgett of Pleasant Shade; 8 siblings, Elizabeth Butler of South Carthage, Raymond Duke of Hiwassee, Thelma Perry of the Lock Seven Community, David Duke and wife Annette of Pensacola, Florida, James Duke and wife Sandra of Hiwassee, Linda Sullivan of McMinnville, Frankie Duke of Lebanon, Shirley Rich and husband Tim of Crossville; 7 grandchildren, James Johnson of Mt. Juliet, Laura Duke of Mt. Juliet, Kaleb Duke of Hiwassee, Alicia Duke of Hiwassee, Andreas Maye of Cary, North Carolina, Alyssa Padett and Ethan Padgett both of Pleasant Shade.
Mr. Duke is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral home. Family and friends will meet at the Gene Butler Cemetery on Monday afternoon, October 27 at 1:00 PM for Graveside Services and Interment. Pastor Jimmy Green will officiate. Serving as pallbearers are: Carlos Duke, Jonathan Duke, Brittany Jenkins, Alicia Duke, Jamie Duke, Cannan Duke.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home but family and friends will visit at the cemetery after services.
