Mr. Johnny Ray Raines, age 66 of Elmwood, TN, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at his Elmwood home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Raines was born October 23, 1957 to the late John L. Raines and Eliza Woodard Raines Guthrie of South Carthage, TN.
Johnny was a member of the North Carthage Missionary Baptist Church. Johnny retired from Bonnell Aluminum after 43 years. Johnny loved working on lawn mowers, looking at old cars, and spending time with his family. Johnny is survived by the love of his life; Sharon Bennett Raines of 48 years. They were married October 23, 1975 at the home of the late Eld. Charles Allen Gentry.
Along with his wife, Mr. Raines is also survived by Son; Jonathan (Latosha) Raines of Elmwood, TN. Daughter; Teresa (Eric) Burton of Elmwood, TN. Five grandsons; Jeremy Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Lucas Raines, Dylan Raines, and Joseph Burton. One great-grandson; Houston Burton. Two special granddaughters; Dominique Herbert and Malila Myatt. A special adopted work daughter; McKayla Bogle. Siblings; Linda (Danny) Hunter of Rawls Creek, TN, and Billy Raines of Carthage, TN. Nieces; Lynze Hunter of Hartsville, TN, and Bridget Hunter of Rawls Creek, TN. Nephew; Daniel Hunter of Watertown, TN. Great-niece; Shea Hunter of Watertown, TN.
Funeral services for Mr. Raines are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 1PM with Bro. Anthony Dixon and Bro. Steven Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery with Bro. Zary Shealy officiating.
Visitation with the family will be at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Tuesday from 1PM until 8PM and on Wednesday after 10AM until service time at 1PM.
