Joel Ray Vanhoose was taken from this world on Tuesday, January 18th, at the age of 51.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Vanhoose of Brush Creek, Tennessee; children Madison Waggoner of Ellis, Kansas, Jacob and Joshua Vanhoose, stepsons Kyle Busard (Dara) Hartselle, Al, Nate Busard (Holly) of Grant, TN, grandchildren Victoria, Kyler, Rhett, Maddox, Memphis, and soon to be Granddaughter, Ellie Kay Weeden (expected in March), his father, Orvil Vanhoose; and siblings, Chuck Mader of Pensacola, Florida, Mark Daniel Mader of Lafayette, Indiana, and Nikki Rivers of Austin, Texas. Joel is proceeded in death by his mother, Phyllis Vanhoose.
Joel was born on February 2, 1970 in Plainville, Kansas to Orvil and Phyllis Vanhoose. He grew up in Rooks County where he attended Plainville High School, graduating in 1988. Joel attended Middle Tennessee State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technologies and Construction. Joel built a successful career in the electrical and control systems side of the logistics and supply chain industry.
Joel was a resident of Brush Creek, Tennessee for the past twenty-five years, where he and his wife Sheila enjoyed spending time with family, cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and Tennessee Volunteers, and spoiling their dog Jasper.
Due to the pandemic, there are no planned services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, in loving Memory of his mother, Phyllis Vanhoose.
