Mr. Jerry Stanton Williams
Mr. Jerry Stanton Williams age 82, of Smithville, TN, passed away Monday August 1, 2016 at his home.
Jerry was born March 16, 1934 in the Lancaster Community to the late Otis V. Williams and Ruby E. Lancaster Williams. He was also preceded in death by Sister; June W. Stewart. Jerry graduated from Gordonsville High School in 1952. He married Carolyn Dickens on July 2, 1955. Jerry served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He retired from Textron. Jerry served as Cub Scout Master of Troop 347, beginning his first year as Cub Master he worked the 10 years with several of the boys through their Eagle Scout year. He was a member and Past Master of Liberty Lodge #77 in Smithville and Past Patron of Smithville Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #374. Jerry attended the Methodist Church.
Jerry is survived by his Wife: Mrs. Carolyn Dickens Williams of Smithville, TN. Children; Emily Carol Williams of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Jerry Stanton “Stan” Williams, II, and wife Pam, of Tullahoma, TN. Sister; Elaine Williams Collier and husband, Bob. Grandchildren; Corey Neely Studer and husband John, Sarah Elizabeth Henderson and husband Andrew, and Emily Lauren Williams. Great-grandchildren; Ava Studer, Anna Studer, and Barrett Henderson. A multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Jerry’s remains rest at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home.
Masonic Services are scheduled to be conducted on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 3PM at the Dekalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville, TN, with Memorial Services immediately following with Rev. Terry Little and Bro. John Carpenter. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the Williams Family will be on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 2PM till 8PM at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes, and again on Saturday from 11AM until the Masonic Service at 3PM at Dekalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville, TN.
The Williams Family requests donations in Mr. Jerry’s memory be made to the Smithville First United Methodist Church Building Fund, Boy Scouts Troop #347, or to the Shriners Hospital.
