Mr. Jerry Gibbs, age 84, of the Hiwassee Community, died Wednesday morning, October 30, at Vanderbilt Wilson County. He is survived by wife; Mary Gibbs, children; Russell Gibbs and wife Janice of Rock City, Johnny Gibbs and wife Ann of Rock City, Joy Myatt and husband Thad of Rock City, brothers; Glen Gibbs and wife Carol of Rome, David Gibbs and wife Cindy of Lebanon, grand children; Jarred Derflinger and wife Alexis, Jacob Derflinger, Madison Myatt, James Russell Gibbs, Madison Nowak, Haley Nowak, great grand children; Kimberly Derflinger, Cameron Gray, Allissa Bain.
Mr. Gibbs is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted Monday morning, November 4, at 11:00 AM with Eld. Junior Dickerson officiating. Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Carthage Chapel beginning on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
The family has requested memorials to Plunketts Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
