Mr. James Hale, age 81 of Newport and longtime resident of Carthage, died Wednesday morning, April 12 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Hale and 3 daughters, Darlene Gregory of Lafayette, Mildred Hale of the Grant Community, Patty Reid of Hartsville,; 3 sons, Jimmy Hale and wife Lavonna of the Pumpkin Town Community, Warner Hale and wife Danielle of Carthage, John Hale and wife Melinda of Newport.
Mr. Hale is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, April 15 at 1:00 PM. Rev. John Hale and Rev. Scott Ezell will officiate. Bill Cuatt will present the eulogy. Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are: Dustin Jones, Hunter Grigg, Josh Gibbs, Ronnie Maynard, Devin Gregory, Ben Reid. Honorary pallbearers are: Kyle Hale, Jim Hale, Jeff Hale, Frank Ratcliff, John Mix, Dillon Givens, Tim Maynard.
Visitation will be on Saturday April 15 only from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home.
The family has requested memorials to assist with funeral expenses.
