Mr. Howard Odell Bennett
Mr. Howard Odell Bennett age 90, of Brush Creek, TN, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at NHC Smithville.
Mr. Howard was born March 22, 1925 in Rome, TN, the son of the late; Robert Hugh Bennett and Margie Melinda Thompson. He was also preceded in death by Siblings; Hugh Bennett, Daisy Osborne, Minnie Mofield, W.C. Bennett, Paul Bennett, Richard “Dick” Bennett, Vance Bennett, Jackie Bennett, Franklin “Mack” Bennett, and Annie Gregory. Mr. Bennett married Florrie Fay Roberts on March 25, 1950 and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2006. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during WWII, with tours in Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland.
Mr. Bennett is survived by Children; Barbara (Howard) Clark of Knoxville, TN, Iris (Tony) Dickens of Elmwood, TN, and Sherrill (Beverly) Bennett of Brush Creek, TN. Grandchildren; Meagan (Nicholas) Scott, Jonathan Clark, Traci (Bryan) Bratcher, Erica (Brandon) Hinkle, Kelli (Andy) Hall, and Jeff (Rachel) Bennett. Great-Grandchildren; Scarlett (Jordan) Looney, Nicholas Bratcher, Kylie Hinkle, Jenny Hall, Abby Hall, Ali Bennett, Elle Bennett, Ivy Bennett, and Oslyn Bennett. Two Brothers; Robert Eugene Bennett of Santa Rosa, CA, and Douglas Bennett of Rockvale, TN.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bennett are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11AM with Bro. Jimmy Gregory and Bro. Rob Amason officiating. Interment will follow in the Brush Creek Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the Bennett family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Tuesday from 3PM until 8PM and again on Wednesday from 9AM until the time of the service at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Bennett’s family requests that donations be made to Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church Hats of Love Ministry, Lighthouse Christian Camp, or the Gideon’s.
