Mr. Glenn Boyd James departed from this earth on February 1, 2016 ready to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was 87 years old.

He was born on May 29, 1929 in Hickman, Tennessee.

He was welcomed home by those who preceded him in death, his Parents; Luther and Lorell James, his two Brothers; Charles and Billy James his three Sons; Glenn Jr., Steven and Richard James and his long-time friend and companion; Geraldine Duke.

He was the owner and manager of Gordonsville Trailer park for over 30 years. He was a generous and understanding manager and helped many people in their time of need over the years.

Before that he had been a “Big Rig” driver and retired from Rankin Oil of Carthage Tennessee. During his time as a driver he drove countless U.S. Highways and Byways, from Alaska to Mexico and many U.S. states. He is known to have carried the very last load to the Flaming Gorge Dam in Utah back in 1963.

He was a follower of most every sport but an avid “Tennessee” sports fan. He loved all teams Tennessee. Baseball was by far his favorite. He could be found during baseball season watching game after game and those around knew to be quiet while a game was on. He was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, a passion passed down to him by his father.

Mr. James daily read the newspaper from front to back and had been known to quiz his grandchildren on current events. He loved reading and especially enjoyed “Old West” magazines. He had collected hundreds of them over the years.

Those who knew him could attest to his mischievous wit and humor. He was always good for a funny joke or story and could bring a smile to your face.

He was a devoted and generous family man and he leaves behind his Daughter Katherine James Parks, his Grand-Daughters; Robin LaJeunesse and Sabrina Archer, his sister Mary Tripp and the Mother of his four children; Ethel James South. He also leaves Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and many other family, friends and loved ones.

Funeral Services for Mr. James will be conducted on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 12:00PM in Gordonsville Tennessee at Bass Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.

Visitation with the James Family will be held on Friday from 10:00AM until service time at 12:00PM.

Donations in Mr. Glenn’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
