Mr. Edd Blair, age 75, of South Carthage died Saturday evening, July 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He is survived by: wife, Betty Rogers Blair, Tennessee Highway Patrol Major, Retired; daughter, Treva Blair Massey and husband Kevin of Elmwood; step daughter, Amy Sullivan Mahen of Cookeville; foster daughter, Tracy Massey and husband Phil of Elmwood; sister, Ann McMillan and husband Alvin of Effingham, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, Michael Massey and wife Megan, Kade Sullivan and wife Kenna, Krystal Hughes and husband Devin, Nev Sullivan; 6 great-grandchildren; foster grandchildren, Jessica Massey, Christina Massey Bass, Joshua Massey and wife Shelby; several other nieces and nephews.
Mr. Blair is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted on Wednesday morning, July 7 at 11:00 AM. Eld. James Thomas Gibbs will officiate. Former Vice President Al Gore will present the eulogy. A Masonic Chapel Service will be conducted on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. by Carthage Benevolent Lodge # 14 F & AM. Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are THP District 6 Honor Guard.
Visitation on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
The family has requested memorials to New Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
