
Mr. Curtis Hoover Woodard, age 91, of Temperance Hall, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Riverview Regional Medical Center, Carthage, TN.
He was born November 22, 1932 in Smith County, TN, son of the late Herman Haskel Woodard who died in Lakeland, FL at the age of 86 on April 16, 1977 and Mary Lillie Sircy Woodard who died in Lakeland, FL at the age of 82 on August 19, 1976. He married Floy Ruth Williams June 29, 1951 in Cookeville, Putnam County, TN. She preceded him in death on December 3, 2004.
He was a member of Lancaster Hill Church of God. He was well known in the dairy business for over 50 years.
Mr. Woodard is survived by son, Larry (Mary) Robinson of Temperance Hall, TN; Grandson, Lynn Robinson of Temperance Hall, TN; Granddaughter, Tracy Robinson of New Johnsonville, TN; and Great Grandchildren, Hunter Robinson of Hoover, Alabama, and Tara Greene of Henning, TN.
He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, Great Nieces, Nephews, great great Nieces and Nephews.
Besides meeting face to face with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, he stepped into Heaven to see his loved ones waiting for him. Born the ninth of ten children, preceding him in death were his Brothers, Wesley Jordan (Cora Mae), Leslie Jefferson (Mary Bell), Willie Hester (Mary, Rena and Mildred), Henry Lester (Cleora), Harvey Frazier (Cora), Harse Hale, and Haskel B. (Esther). Sisters preceding him were Floy Lillie (Henson) Bennett and Mildred Annette (Kenneth) Still. He was the last surviving child of all his siblings and sisters/brothers in law. He often spoke of living to be the oldest of his siblings. Also preceding him in death was daughter in law, Marie.
Funeral Services for Mr. Woodard are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00am with nephew, Rev. Carl Hart and Bro. Chad Coppinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home, Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday, August 31 from 9:00am until service time at 11:00am.
