Mr. Charles Spivey, age 70 of the Pleasant Shade Community, died Friday morning, May 16 at his home. He is survived by: wife of 47 years, Debbie Spivey; mother, Mable Spivey of Carthage; daughter, Miranda Spivey of Carthage; 2 sons, Jason Spivey and wife Misty of Pleasant Shade, Boyd Silcox and wife Joeann of Carthage; 2 sisters, Judy Head and husband Richard of Gainesboro, Margie Roberts of Carthage; 2 brothers, David Spivey and wife Joann of Riddleton, Wayne Spivey and wife Debbie of Carthage; 5 grandchildren, Marcus Silcox, Maddox Silcox, Connor Huff, Amber and Taylin Spivey; 1 great-grandchild.
Mr. Spivey is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted on Monday afternoon, May 19 at 1:00 PM. Pastor David Thaxton will officiate. Rodger Reed will deliver the eulogy. Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are: Ricky Bowman, Gary Woodard, Jake Yount, Greg Eden, Gary Mosley, Finis Davis.
Visitation will begin on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
