Mr. Billy Frank Carter

Billy was born in Granville to Hass and Ruby Nell (Daniels) Carter on December 21, 1939. He went on to attend Jackson County High School and later married the love of his life, Ruth Elrod Carter, on March 3, 1957 in Smith County, Tennessee. In his early life, he worked in construction as an equipment operator best known for his bulldozer work. He was an avid horseman and farmer raising cattle and tobacco crops. His lifelong passion was breaking and training young horses and mules.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Hass and Ruby Nell Carter, his brother Lloyd Carter, his sister Shirley Jean (Gene) Burgess, his daughter-in-law Joy Carter, and his nephew Ronald Burgess.

Billy is survived by his loving wife Ruth Carter and his three children, Paul Carter, David Carter (Pam Holloway), and Barbra Green (Carter) as well as his grandchildren Jessica (Jarad) Webb, Elizabeth (Colby) Reeder, Kasey Green, Katherine (Josh) Thompson, and Emily Carter. Billy is also survived by his great grandchildren Raegan Adcock, Dixon Webb, and Caroline Reeder, his nephew Randall burgess, his nieces Kay Waller, Darlene Brown, and Margaret “tinker” Head, his cousin Feller Brown, and many other friends and family who loved him dearly.

Services for Mr. Carter will be announced at a later date. Mr. Carter was baptized into Christ December 8, 2020 and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.”
